How to delete backup jobs from the IBDR appliance
Introduction
It may be necessary to delete backup jobs in case they are not required anymore or to free some extra space. For the best user experience, we recommend using a retention policy instead of manually deleting jobs. However, it may be necessary to delete the jobs manually if they are orphaned or the client is retired.
Data deleted this way can no longer be recovered by any means
Prerequisites
- You are logged in to the IBDR Appliance Management Console
Instructions
1) Find and select the jobs you would like to delete. Navigate to the "Jobs", "History" tab and find the jobs you would like to delete.
2) Delete the jobs. Select the jobs you would like to delete and click on the "Delete" button.
If the "Delete" button is disabled, one of the jobs is "Pinned" so it can not be deleted. In order to delete the jobs, first, it is necessary to "Unpin" them.
You will get a popup to confirm the deletion of the selected jobs. Click "Yes" to proceed with the deletion.
Once "Yes" has been selected the appliance will delete the jobs.
The deleted job will disappear from the Jobs History tab. This job will appear in the purged jobs tab for audit purposes as metadata (there will be no backup data for that job, but it will be information about it).
