How to reboot an IBDR Appliance via the Management Console
Introduction
In some cases, it may be necessary to reboot the IBDR Appliance. The most common reasons for the reboot are to finalize the installation of a firmware update or to get the system in its initial state if a process has been locked up. However, a regularly scheduled reboot is always a good practice that should be followed for any server. Regularly scheduled reboots have been known to increase the stability and performance of the appliance. For the best performance, we recommend that you reboot the appliance once or twice every month.
Prerequisites
- There are no jobs, boots, or other activities in progress on the IBDR Appliance which prevents a reboot
- You are logged in on the IBDR Appliance Management Console
Instructions
1) Navigate to the Settings tab. Under the "Basic" section on the left-hand side select the "Reboot/Shutdown" option. Click on the "Reboot" button.

In case there are running jobs or active boots, the "Reboot" button will be disabled, and the list of processes preventing a reboot will be displayed in the "Running Processes" box.
2) Confirm a reboot. You will get a popup to confirm the reboot. Click "Yes" to proceed with the reboot of the appliance.
Once "Yes" has been selected the appliance will begin to reboot.
The UI will be unavailable until the device has fully rebooted. General reboots will take around 10-15 minutes to perform but can take up to 40 minutes if you are applying a firmware update.
